This book was… odd.  It is spooky and mystical; however the description of “gripping” and “white-knuckled horror” did not really match what I experienced.  I was hoping for something to give me a scare and dip into horror, but this fell a bit short.

In this novel we meet Kara who discovers a portal to another dimension in her uncle’s house and business.  Her neighbor and her are faced with the dangers of this other world and must find a way back to safety.  There are creepy parts for sure, like they can only find you when you think about them, however I thought the humor was more on point than the thrills.  There were a few plot holes and while I think the intention was provide answers in the ending, they just didn’t all add up for me.  Ah well, on to the next one.  I’m off to browse the horror accounts on social media and get me a proper scare.
