Honey & Spice Book Review

Honey & Spice by Bolu Babalola is a witty and heartwarming romance novel that was absolutely FUN to read.  In it we meet Kiki, a super lovable protagonist.  She hosts a student radio show, is active in the African-Caribbean Society at her university, and is skilled at giving advice to others about their relationships while evading love for herself.

Enter Malakai.

One of my absolute favorite romance scenarios is when brilliant MCs meet their intellectual match, and we get a story with quick wit humor.  This was packed with it.  It had me laughing out loud and quickly rooting for this couple.

If campus / university romance isn’t usually your thing, I’d still recommend this book.  The characters have a maturity and self-awareness that makes it feel much older.  And the female friendships are just as developed as the romantic tale.  And if you can get the audio, do it!  The charm factor notches up so much with the skilled narration from Weruche Opia.

I was fortunate enough to buddy read this with a few friends which made it extra fun to read.
